About European Funding Programmes:

Horizon Europe is the European Union's framework programme for research and innovation, in force from 2021 to 2027, and is structured in three pillars. Pillar 2 includes 6 clusters, including the Health Cluster, which aims to support projects that contribute to improving and protecting the health and well-being of citizens of all ages by generating new knowledge and developing innovative solutions to prevent, diagnose, monitor, treat and cure diseases; develop health technologies, mitigate health risks, protect populations and promote health and well-being in general and in the workplace; make public health systems more cost-effective, equitable and sustainable, prevent and combat poverty-related diseases and support patient participation and self-management.

The EU4Health Programme was launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of strengthening the health systems of the Member States of the European Union (EU), and placing Public Health as a priority. It is implemented through annual work programmes that support a wide range of actions, grouped into four main strands, with a cross-cutting focus on cancer: strengthening health crisis preparedness; health promotion and disease prevention; strengthening health systems and human resources for health; and strengthening and developing the digital domain.

The Digital Europe Programme provides strategic funding, supporting projects in key capability areas such as: supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced digital skills and ensuring the widespread use of digital technologies across the economy and society. It supports industry, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public administration in their digital transformation through a strengthened network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH).
