Instituto Pedro Nunes promotes EN 9100 training for the aviation, aerospace and defense sectors

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is organising the training course “EN 9100 Quality Management Systems – Aviation, Aerospace and Defense”, taking place on June 23 and 25, 2026, aimed at Quality Managers and professionals involved in quality management and control activities, with responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, or auditing of Quality Management Systems, as well as recent graduates seeking to develop a career in the aeronautical, aerospace, and defense sectors.
The training will be delivered online, with a total duration of 9 hours, divided into two 4-hour sessions, complemented by an individual one-on-one session of 1 hour per participant, to be scheduled directly with the trainer between July 1 and October 15, 2026. The course may be delivered in Portuguese or English, subject to confirmation.
Throughout the programme, participants will gain a solid understanding of the EN 9100 standard, deepening their knowledge of its specific requirements and identifying the main differences in relation to ISO 9001.
The programme begins with a conceptual overview of the sector, covering the applicable regulatory framework and the fundamentals of quality within organisations, as well as the structure of the EN 9100 standard. In a second session, participants will engage in a detailed analysis of the standard’s specific requirements, exploring its alignment with applicable regulations and reflecting on practical implementation strategies within organizational contexts.
Through practical examples, participants will consolidate their ability to correctly interpret the additional requirements introduced by EN 9100:2018.
The training will be delivered by Rui Henriques, Project Manager at IPN, a senior professional with more than 20 years of experience in Quality Control and Quality Management, including 18 years dedicated to the Space sector. A specialist in quality management systems under EN 9100 and ISO 9001 standards, he has extensive experience in first-, second-, and third-party audits, technical training, and consultancy. He holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Coimbra and a postgraduate qualification in Space Studies from the International Space University.

Early bird registration is available until June 13, 2026, with an investment of EUR 384 + VAT. After this date, regular registration will be available until June 18, 2026, at EUR 480 + VAT.
Companies incubated at IPN and members of the AED benefit from a 15% discount in both registration phases. An additional 5% discount is also available for two or more registrations from the same company. Discounts are not cumulative.
This training is DGERT-certified, with Instituto Pedro Nunes certified under no. 2376/2016. Upon completion, participants who meet the minimum 95% attendance requirement will be awarded a Professional Training Certificate.
