IPN launches European project ROOT to boost skills in the Earth Observation sector

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) will host the launch event of the ROOT project - Resources for Orientation and Occupational Transition - on April 1st. This European initiative, funded by the Erasmus+ programme with approximately €1 million funding, aims to strengthen career guidance and the capacity building of workers and SMEs in the strategic Earth Observation (EO) sector. While Earth Observation is vital for Europe’s digital and environmental transition, the sector faces growing skill gaps. The three-year ROOT project intends to bridge these gaps by developing innovative guidance tools and implementing three Living Labs to test practical upskilling and reskilling solutions.
The launch event will take place at 10:00 AM at IPN’s Building D Auditorium and will feature international experts and partners. The session is open to the academic community, businesses, policymakers, and civil society.
