Fator C’Idade – Senior and Impact Entrepreneurship kicked off on 7 March 2026 with an acceleration event that brought together senior entrepreneurs and individuals interested in developing projects with an impact in the area of active ageing. The initiative took place at Fundação Bissaya Barreto, in Coimbra, and marked the start of a new edition of the programme.
Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and explore opportunities to develop solutions aimed at the senior population.
The opening session featured remarks from Joana Pires Araújo, from Coimbra Coolectiva, Teresa Monteiro, from Fundação Bissaya Barreto, and José Ricardo Aguilar, representing Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN).
The event included several capacity-building activities aimed at supporting the development of entrepreneurial initiatives. Among them, Carla Duarte, Innovation Manager at IPN, delivered a session on the challenges of ageing in Portugal and guided participants in building value propositions for their ideas, identifying the problem, the solution and the target audience.
During the afternoon, Alexandre Almeida, Project Manager at IPN, led a session on business models, supporting participants in structuring their initiatives and identifying the resources, funding sources, partnerships and activities required to implement their projects.
The day concluded with a pitch session, during which participants presented their ideas in short presentations of around one minute each. In total, 16 projects were presented, reflecting different solutions to address the challenges of ageing and longevity.
The event marked the beginning of the new edition of Fator C’Idade and the start of the programme’s training phase, which will take place in the coming weeks at IPN. Over five weeks, participants will have access to training sessions, mentoring and networking opportunities, culminating in the final presentation of projects at Demo Day.
The programme remains open for
registrations for upcoming sessions until March 19, aimed at anyone interested in developing projects with an impact in the field of ageing.
Fator C’Idade is promoted by Instituto Pedro Nunes, Fundação Bissaya Barreto and Coimbra Coolectiva. The project is supported by Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, Climacer, Black Monster Media and GEHC, and is funded by Portugal Inovação Social, under Portugal 2030, Centro 2030 and the European Union.
