On 11 April 2026, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) will host the national final of MIT €100K Portugal 2026 in the Auditorium of Building D, marking a moment of particular significance for Portugal’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
For the first time, the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition, created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is being expanded beyond the United States, with Portugal selected as the new strategic host country for this renowned international competition.
The Portuguese edition is organised by Académica Start UC, in partnership with MIT Portugal, Universidade de Coimbra and Instituto Pedro Nunes, further strengthening the connection between higher education, research and the business sector.
The final session will bring together the nationally selected finalist projects, which will present their pitches before a panel of judges of recognised standing in the fields of technology, management and innovation. A total of €10,000 in prizes will be awarded, and the winning project will also have the opportunity to represent Portugal at MIT’s international competition in Boston (United States).
With the hosting of MIT €100K Portugal 2026, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) further consolidates its role as a leading institution in supporting technology-based entrepreneurship and promoting knowledge transfer.
