Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is seeking a Business Developer and Pre-Award Grant Manager in the field of Medical Technologies and Digital Health to join its team.
Operational functions:
- Identify new business opportunities aligned with the Institute’s core competencies by prospecting potential clients and analysing funding opportunities;
- Support the conceptual development, drafting, and submission of applications to national and European funding programmes;
- Collaborate with the different departments of the institution throughout all stages of the application process;
- Manage the Intellectual Property (IP) valorisation process across the various stages of technology development;
- Contribute to the definition of the R&D strategy, in alignment with the institutional strategy and available funding opportunities;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and potential clients;
- Use CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) to monitor progress and track performance indicators;
- Represent the Institute at national and international events, conferences, and networking initiatives;
- Participate in national and international network meetings and events.
Profile:
- Minimum qualification: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, Health Economics, or related fields.
- Proven experience in preparing and submitting funding applications in the field of health innovation;
- More than 2 years of experience with European funding programmes (Horizon Europe or previous Framework Programmes, EIT Health, DEP, THCS, Interreg, Eureka);
- Experience in business development;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
Preferential factors:
- Entrepreneurial experience in ICT for health and well-being;
- Knowledge of the Medical Technologies and Digital Health value chain and European market access mechanisms.
