Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is part of the European project SME-RISE, an Erasmus+ initiative that aims to strengthen entrepreneurship and business development in the drone sector, in a context of strong market growth and the creation of new opportunities across various areas of activity.
Within the framework of this project, IPN participates as a partner, contributing with its experience in the promotion of innovation, support for entrepreneurship, and the development of business skills, collaborating in the definition of practical training methodologies, in the development of digital resources, and in the creation of tools for the sustainability and competitiveness of new initiatives.
The project began in December 2025 and involves an international consortium composed of Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, Future Needs, European Progress, Instituto Pedro Nunes, and Spotin – Spotlight on Innovation, bringing together entities with consolidated experience in the areas of innovation, education, and business development.

SME-RISE aims to support SMEs, startups, and young entrepreneurs in transforming innovative ideas into viable and sustainable businesses, promoting the update and acquisition of new skills aligned with the demands of a constantly evolving digital economy. The main expected results include the creation of a training programme focused on business development in the drone sector, the development of practical materials using digital tools, and the implementation of an online platform to support entrepreneurship.
A needs analysis survey is available, until 17 February 2026, with the aim of contributing to the development of a comprehensive report on learning needs, challenges, and opportunities in the European drone sector.
