The Portuguese Navy, in partnership with the Instituto Pedro Nunes, is holding the Innovation Roadshow in Coimbra on 19 and 20 November, an initiative that brings the Navy closer to the academic and business ecosystem to accelerate technological solutions with applications in the maritime field.

Since 2020, the Portuguese Navy, through the Navy's Coordination and Monitoring Structure for Research, Development, Experimentation and Innovation (ECA-IDEIA), has been organising a Roadshow in different regions of the country with the aim of boosting innovation and deepening collaboration with academia and industry.

This event aims to establish partnerships and cooperation initiatives, promoting the identification of opportunities for open and collaborative innovation projects. It also aims to raise awareness of ongoing projects in the Navy's innovation sector, as well as technological needs, development opportunities and co-creation.

With the aim of identifying relevant companies, industries and academic institutions in the district of Coimbra and establishing permanent channels of communication, the 6th edition of the ECA-IDEIA Roadshow will be held in collaboration with the Instituto Pedro Nunes, focusing on emerging and disruptive technologies with dual-use applicability.

The event delegation includes the participation of several units, namely CEOM (Navy Operational Experimentation Centre, in Troia), IH Sensortech (Ocean Observation Technology Development Centre, Hydrographic Institute), CINAV (Naval School Research Centre), CEOV (Unmanned Systems Innovation and Operational Experimentation Unit) and SI (Information Superintendence), as well as representation from idD Portugal Defence.
