On October 24, 2025, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) welcomed students from Agrupamento de Escolas D. João II, in Caldas da Rainha. The visit aimed to provide an immersive and insightful experience on the impact of R&D results on society, particularly in the areas of sustainability and the circular economy, following the presentation of the project “Cerâmica Saída da Casca” at the 2025 Regional School Business Ideas Competition – 10th Edition.
During their visit, students explored the laboratories, discovered projects and technologies focused on developing materials from natural raw materials, and saw how waste and by-products from various sectors are transformed into new industrial applications. They also experienced the versatility of 3D printing and observed its growing presence in everyday life.
This experience allowed IPN to demonstrate and bring the students closer, in a positive and inspiring way, to the practical reality of research and innovation activities applied in businesses, proving to be a valuable experience for all involved.
