IPN strengthens cooperation between European and African innovation ecosystems in Brussels

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) participated on October 22 and 23, 2025, in two international events held in Brussels: Bridging Continents through Innovation: Africa–Europe Innovation Dialogues, organized by the Africa–Europe Innovation Platform (AEIP), and the Innovation Fair – Enabling that Step Forward, co-organized by the African Union, European Union, and Union for the Mediterranean. Both events aimed to deepen cooperation between European and African innovation ecosystems.

During the “Bridging Continents through Innovation: Africa–Europe Innovation Dialogues”, IPN was selected to join a newTwinning Europe–Africa project, an initiative promoting collaboration between incubators, hubs, and innovation support organizations across both continents. The panel “Bridging Continents – Accelerating Innovation Together” was moderated by Agyemang Darko (AAU), whereJoana Afonso, IPN’s Project Manager, shared her cooperation experience within the SEADE Twinning Programme.

The “Innovation Fair – Enabling that Step Forward”, co-organized by the African Union, European Union, and Union for the Mediterranean, served as a space for knowledge sharing and collaboration between European, African, and Mediterranean innovation ecosystems. The event provided IPN with the opportunity to strengthen relationships with various stakeholders, including the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN), consolidating international collaborations in the field of innovation.
