Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) co-organised the Coimbra Invest Summit (CIS), held on July 2nd and 3rd at the Convento de São Francisco. The event, promoted by Municipality of Coimbra in partnership with IPN, the University of Coimbra (UC), the Polytechnic of Coimbra (IPC) and iParque, reinforced the ambition of positioning Coimbra as a national and international reference in innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment.
On the second day of the event, open to the public, IPN was present with its vibrant community of incubated and accelerated startups, which took part in the technological innovation showcase. Over ten IPN-associated startups presented their projects in the fields of health, technology, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and space. These included: Airsafe.ai, Black Monster Media, BRNDTS, ByTheLaw, CleanWatts, Coalex.ai, FiberSight, ihcare,Noytral, OWLPlaces, Owlpharma Consulting, Portugal Green Travel, RDefine, Risimet, Spacengenier and TUU.
These companies showcased high-impact solutions — from space industry and digital health technologies to legal tools, sustainable tourism, and AI-based air safety systems.
The opening session featured the President of IPN’s Board, João Gabriel Silva, who highlighted the institution’s key role in supporting applied science and fostering the creation of businesses.
The
Ineo Start 2025 Demo Day, IPN’s acceleration programme for technologies and business ideas, was also celebrated during the event. The session featured the presentation of eight innovative projects, which completed several intensive weeks of training, and mentoring, in front of an audience of investors, partners, and innovation ecosystem experts.
IPN’s participation in CIS 2025 reaffirms its commitment to promoting a strong, collaborative, and future-oriented entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through incubation, acceleration, and technology transfer, the Institute continues to drive economic and scientific development in the Coimbra region.
