Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) welcomed a delegation of eight health sector entrepreneurs and researchers from the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The visit aimed to explore IPN’s innovation ecosystem, identify internationalisation opportunities, and assess potential collaboration for research and development.
The delegation included representatives from Inovadona Research & Innovation Centre (Hospital Dona Helena), DrX Tech Hospital, CENPI DrX Health Research Centre, Univalli University, and Grupo Europa de Negócios, a Brazil-Portugal exchange facilitator.
The programme featured a presentation of IPN Incubator by Paulo Santos, Incubation and Acceleration Director, and an introduction to EIT Health by Jorge Pimenta, Innovation Director. The group also toured the Laboratory of Automation and Systems (LAS), guided by Cristiana Costa, Unit Coordinator for RTD Impact.
In addition, five IPN-incubated startups working in the health sector showcased their innovative solutions and interest in the Brazilian market: Laserleap, ExpressTEC, Safecaring, Flash Diagnostics, Ionic Health and Risimet.
