Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) co-organised the EIT Health InnoStars Connect bootcamp, an open innovation programme promoted by EIT Health that aims to boost innovative startups in the health sector.
For two days, the selected startups (mama health, Aqabela, Bialoom, RespiBit, Virtuleap, Auxiliis Pharma, NIB Biotec, PONS, AIGEA Medical and IQ Biozoom) took part in workshops and practical activities designed by IPN. The workshops were given by experts such as Jorge Pimenta, IPN's Innovation Director, who guided the teams in the area of pitching, helping them to perfect their presentations, and Maria Burpee, a marketing and sales consultant, who shared marketing and sales strategies.
The Bootcamp provided several moments of strategic networking with relevant stakeholders, strengthening valuable connections for all the participants involved.
The Bootcamp culminated in the InnoStars Grand Final, during which the startups had the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of experts and investors. The winners of the competition were: 1st place PONS, 2nd place NIB Biotec and 3rd place Bialoom.
The first year of InnoStars Connect proved to be an excellent opportunity to strengthen links between EIT Health partners, with the challenge owners Chiesi Group and Synlab standing out.
IPN is a founding partner of EIT Health, Europe's largest health innovation consortium.
