On 10 November, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) received a visit from representatives of TÜV SÜD, one of the most important Notified Bodies for medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices.

Agnese Mengoli and Stefano Bolletta, TÜV SÜD Italy representatives, who are responsible for TÜV SÜD's operations in Portugal in the field of medical devices, had the opportunity to visit IPN, namely the Business Incubator and Accelerator, the Department for Knowledge Valorisation and Innovation (VCI) and the Automation and Systems Lab (LAS).

In the second half of the day, representatives from TÜV SÜD joined Sandra Balseiro, head of IPN's Medical Device Regulatory Unit, to organise an information event on the subject of medical device regulation.

During the event, Sandra Balseiro shared her vast experience as an expert, addressing the regulatory context that shapes the current scenario. Agnese Mengoli and Stefano Bolletta spoke about the role of Notified Bodies in the European Union Medical Devices Regulation (EU 2017/745) and the In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Regulation (EU 2017/746). There was also a Q&A which gave the audience the opportunity to clarify doubts on the subject.
