Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), in partnership with CIETEC and InovaHC, hosted the event "Regulation of Health Products in Brazil and the European Union", during a meeting of great relevance for the health sector, on 26 May, in Brazil.

The InovaHC auditorium was the stage for discussions on the internationalisation of medical device solutions, bringing together HealthTechs and Biotechs startups interested in expanding their operations to the European market.

The event began with a welcome from Luciana L., representative of the HCFMUSP Technological Innovation Centre, who emphasised the importance of collaboration between institutions to boost innovation in the health sector. Next, Felipe Massami Maruyama, Cietec's Chief Operating Officer, shared valuable insights with participants.

José Rodrigues, do IPN, shared the national and international actions developed by the institution, highlighting the laboratories and incubation and acceleration programmes.

To address the central theme of the event, Renata Rothbarth, representative of the law firm Mattos Filho, brought an in-depth view of the regulation of health products in Brazil. During her lecture, she clarified participants' doubts regarding local regulatory processes and the performance of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).

Also at the event, Natalia de Souza Lescura, from IPN Medical Devices Regulatory Support Unit, shared valuable practical tips on the regulatory process of medical devices in the European Union. Natalia emphasised the different rules and the various opportunities available for startups wishing to expand their horizons and enter the European market.

By hosting this meeting, IPN gave participants the opportunity to learn from experts in healthcare product regulation, both in Brazil and in the European Union. In addition, the event provided a space for networking and exchange of experiences among the startups present.
