As an entity of the national scientific system, which includes 6 laboratories from different areas, research and innovation with support from European programs have always been a constant bet for IPN, both as a partner and as a promoter. In fact, since the 4th Framework Program (FP4), which ended in 1998, IPN participate more than 40 European projects. In order to continue this innovation path, IPN defined as its main strategic objectives the increase of its European presence, exporting its I&I, assisting companies in the Region in their internationalization processes and, above all, reinforcing their negotiating power in definition of the priorities of European R&I programs. The IPN H2020_2 was then designed to actively participate in the pursuit of these objectives, enabling the IPN to have the skills and resources to respond to new scientific and technological challenges and enhance its participation in European R&I programs, focusing on the strategic thematic areas for the institution and for the region. In cause of this, the IPN will have a special focus on the articulation between its R&D strategy and the H2020 work programs, on encouraging participation in international technological networks and platforms and on establishing partnerships with entities from the business and academic-scientific environment ( national, European and intercontinental), which may result in the submission of the 23 proposals that constitute the expected result of the IPN H2020_2 project. The project is based on the proven experience of IPN in preparing applications for R&I programs, the multidisciplinary team responsible for the technical implementation of the project and the strong links it has been establishing throughout its activity, namely through participation in a set of international associations and networks of excellence, as well as contacts with the business community and the scientific and technological community.
The IPN H2020 was designed to respond to a set of opportunities, enabling the IPN to have the skills and resources to respond to new scientific and technological challenges and enhance its participation in European R&I programs, focusing on the strategic thematic areas for the institution.
