Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) welcomed a visit focused on sustainability, as part of the 1st Regional Meeting on Environmental Technologies, organised by APEMETA.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about the work carried out by IPN Wear, Testing and Materials Laboratory (LED&MAT), through research, development and technology (RDT) projects and service activities carried out in collaboration with national and international industry.
The programme included a showcase of developments in the areas of ecodesign of materials and products, the valorisation of bio-based raw materials, waste and by-products, as well as a brief presentation of the "Circular Strategies" Workshop, dedicated to identifying and developing the circular potential of companies.
Among the areas and solutions presented were smart packaging, new materials for environmental decontamination, inline material characterisation systems for recycling lines, and the development of materials for additive manufacturing processes applied to construction.
The visit provided an opportunity to explore different solutions aimed at more efficient and circular production models with lower environmental impact, highlighting the application of IPN work in industrial contexts.
