ESA Space Solutions Portugal, coordinated by IPN, operates as the “single point of contact” for the space economy in the country. We work across the entire sector — from downstream applications to the New Space ecosystem — transforming talent and scientific knowledge into concrete solutions that bring “Space to Earth.”

Pioneering and Integration Since 2014, IPN has led the first European-level Space Solutions Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA). We are one of 21 centres of excellence in Europe that integrate ESA’s three fundamental innovation pillars:

• ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC): Supporting entrepreneurship and startup incubation.

• Technology Broker Network: A partner network for transferring space technology to other sectors.

• ESA Business Applications: A platform of ambassadors for developing commercial applications.

This centre is the result of a strategic partnership between IPN ESA, Portugal Space and ANACOM. We also rely on a broad network of stakeholders, including universities, regional authorities, and partner incubators, strengthening Portugal’s competitiveness in the global space sector.
