Job Opportunity: Financial Management of Co-funded Projects

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is looking for a professional in financial management of co-funded projects, contributing to the financial, administrative and documentary management of projects funded by national and European programmes, while ensuring proper financial execution, expenditure eligibility, compliance with regulatory requirements and the preparation of the financial reports required by funding authorities.

 Operational functions:

  • Prepare and submit payment requests, amendment requests and other documentation required by funding authorities, ensuring the financial and documentary compliance of projects;
  • Monitor the financial execution of projects by carrying out budget control, tracking implementation rates and analysing deviations from the approved budget;
  • Verify the eligibility of expenditure, the compliance of supporting documentation and the fulfilment of the regulatory and contractual requirements established by funding authorities, ensuring the proper organisation of the projects technical and financial documentation;
  • Prepare financial reports, monitoring tables and supporting management documentation, contributing to the monitoring of implementation and to decision-making;
  • Support audits, checks and monitoring activities carried out by funding bodies, ensuring the timely provision of the necessary information and documentation;
  • Ensure effective coordination between internal teams, promoters, partners, suppliers and funding authorities, guaranteeing the proper administrative and financial management of projects..

 

Profile:

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration or a related field;
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial management of funded projects.

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of national and European funding programmes, namely Portugal 2030, PRR and Horizon Europe;
  • Experience in financial reporting, payment requests and monitoring the financial implementation of projects;
  • Analytical, organisational and document management skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written;

 

Transversal competencies:

  • Demonstrate accuracy, autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Strong analytical, organisational and results-oriented skills;
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, maintaining productive relationships with funding authorities and internal teams;
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with different stakeholders.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with projects co-funded under Portugal 2030, PRR and/or Horizon Europe;
  • Experience in audits, administrative verifications and the technical and financial monitoring of projects;
  • Knowledge of the Balcão dos Fundos, SGO, Consola IAPMEI Incentivos PRR and Funding & Tenders Portal platforms;
  • Additional training in the financial management of co-funded projects;
  • Experience in organisations within the Scientific and Technological System, R&D, innovation or business support;
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, technical guidelines and funding contracts;
  • Interest in the innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and business support ecosystem.
