Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) welcomed, on September 9, 2026, a delegation from the Changping District Government in Beijing, China, accompanied by representatives of the Europe China Joint Innovation Center (EUCJIC), to learn more about the region’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
During their visit to IPN, the delegation had the opportunity to learn more about IPN’s work in supporting entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and the connection between scientific knowledge and the market.
The session included the participation of Raquel Veiga, member of the Board of Go Coimbra, and Jorge Pimenta, Innovation Director at IPN, who presented Coimbra’s innovation ecosystem and the role of local organisations in supporting the development of companies and innovative projects.
The programme also included presentations by three IPN startups, FiberSight, Stratio, and INEYE Therapeutics, which introduced their projects, areas of activity, and expansion goals in the Chinese market. The presentations also provided an opportunity to identify potential areas of collaboration, namely through partners, innovation resources, and funding mechanisms.
The meeting provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing between the innovation ecosystems of Coimbra and Changping, contributing to closer ties between companies and organisations from both regions and exploring future opportunities for international cooperation.
