Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is looking to strengthen its team by recruiting a new member to assist with the management of applications for funded projects.
The successful candidate will join the unit responsible for identifying, preparing and submitting applications to national funding programmes, supporting companies, start-ups and organisations within the innovation ecosystem in structuring projects, analysing eligibility criteria, organising documentation and preparing funding proposals.
Main responsibilities
- Identify and analyse national funding opportunities, assessing their suitability in relation to the profile of beneficiaries and the objectives of the projects;
- Support the analysis of calls for proposals, regulations, technical guidelines and evaluation criteria, systematising requirements, eligibility conditions, eligible expenditure, indicators, deadlines and necessary documentation;
- Take part in diagnostic and scoping meetings with companies, start-ups, internal teams and partners, contributing to the definition and structuring of fundable projects;
- Support the preparation of applications, including gathering and organising information, defining activities, timetables, investments, indicators and expected outcomes;
- Draft and review technical and institutional content to support applications, ensuring consistency between the assessment, objectives, activities, investments, outcomes and evaluation criteria;
- Support the submission of applications via electronic platforms, as well as the preparation of responses to requests for clarification, revisions, representations or other elements requested by funding bodies.
Profile:
- A degree in Management, Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Engineering or related fields;
- Experience in preparing, analysing or monitoring applications for national and/or European funding programmes;
- Knowledge of funding programmes, notably Portugal 2030, PRR, Horizon Europe or other instruments supporting innovation, R&D, business investment, skills development or internationalisation;
- Ability to read and interpret calls for proposals, regulations, technical guidelines and evaluation criteria;
- Good ability to analyse, summarise and structure technical, economic and financial information;
- Excellent written communication skills in Portuguese and a good knowledge of English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Ability to organise, manage priorities and meet tight deadlines;
- Rigour, critical thinking, autonomy, responsibility and a results-oriented approach.
Requirements:
- Experience in preparing applications under the Portugal 2020, Portugal 2030, PRR, Horizon Europe or similar programmes;
- Experience in business applications in the areas of R&D, productive investment, internationalisation or entrepreneurship;
- Knowledge of the Balcão dos Fundos, SGO2030 and Portal dos Fundos platforms, or other submission and monitoring platforms;
- Experience in consultancy, incentive schemes, business innovation, technology transfer or support for start-ups and SMEs;
- Ability to draft project proposals, aligning the promoter’s needs with strategic objectives, activities, investments and expected outcomes;
- Knowledge of economic and financial analysis, investment plans, feasibility studies or business models;
- Interest in the innovation ecosystem, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and support for technology-based companies.
