Job Opportunity: Financial Management of Co-funded Projects (M/F)

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is seeking to strengthen its team by recruiting a new member to manage co-funded projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical, financial and administrative management of projects co-funded by national and European programmes, ensuring the correct implementation and compliance of the funded operations. 

  

Operational functions: 

  • To prepare and submit payment claims, implementation reports, requests for amendments and any other documents required by the funding bodies, ensuring the technical, documentary and financial compliance of the projects;  
  • To verify the eligibility of expenditure, the compliance of supporting documents and the organisation of the projects’ technical and financial files;  
  • Monitor the physical and financial implementation of projects, keeping track of deadlines, targets, indicators, contractual obligations and administrative requirements set by the funding bodies;  
  • Prepare financial reports, monitoring tables and supporting management documentation, contributing to the monitoring of implementation and to decision-making;  
  • Support audits, checks and monitoring activities carried out by funding bodies, ensuring the timely provision of the necessary information and documentation;  
  • Monitor the physical and financial implementation of projects, keeping track of deadlines, targets, indicators, contractual obligations and administrative requirements set by the funding bodies; 

 

Profile: 

  • A degree in Management, Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Public Administration or related fields;  
  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in financial management and the monitoring of co-funded projects;  
  • Knowledge of national and European funding programmes, notably Portugal 2030, PRR and Horizon Europe;  
  • Experience in financial reporting, payment claims and monitoring project implementation;  
  • Analytical, organisational and document management skills;  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with funding bodies and internal teams;  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel;  
  • Good written and oral communication skills in Portuguese and English;  
  • Rigour, autonomy, a sense of responsibility and a results-oriented approach. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Experience in projects co-funded by Portugal 2030, PRR and/or Horizon Europe;  
  • Experience in audits, administrative checks and technical and financial monitoring of projects;  
  • Knowledge of the Balcão dos Fundos and Funding & Tenders Portal platforms;  
  • Additional training in the financial management of co-funded projects;  
  • Experience within organisations in the Science and Technology System, R&D, innovation or business support;  
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, technical guidelines and funding contracts;  
  • Interest in the innovation ecosystem, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and support for technology-based companies.
