Job Opportunity: Innovation Manager – Open Innovation & Dual-Use

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) is looking for a professional to join the Knowledge Valorisation and Innovation Department (VCI) team, working in the area of Innovation Management – Open Innovation & Dual-Use, contributing to the development and implementation of startup acceleration programmes focused on dual-use technologies, while promoting open innovation, technology transfer, and collaboration between companies, R&D laboratories, the Armed Forces, Security Forces and international partners.

 

Operational functions:

  • Develop and implement startup acceleration programmes focused on dual-use technologies in an international context;
  • Foster collaboration between the business sector, R&D laboratories and other IPN stakeholders, particularly the Armed Forces and Security Forces, promoting the development of joint innovation strategies;
  • Support and contribute to IPN Innovation projects, activities, events and services, particularly in the areas of Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

 

Profile:

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Management or a related field;
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a military environment, particularly in the management and deployment of technology in military operational contexts.

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Experience in the deployment of technology in military operational environments;
  • Strong project planning and project management skills;
  • Knowledge of open innovation and technology transfer processes;
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written;
  • Availability for national and international travel.

 

Transversal competencies:

  • Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking;
  • High sense of responsibility and autonomy;
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with professionals from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
