Exactly one year from today, Portugal will become the epicenter of the European innovation ecosystem. The European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN) has officially announced that the EBN Congress 2027 will take place in Portugal from 23 to 25 June 2027.
The prestigious annual event will be co-hosted by the EU|BICs Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) and Startup Leiria, under the theme: “Dual-Use Innovation: Accelerating Ecosystems for Securing the Future.”
The EBN Congress 2027 will gather the global EU|BIC community, experts, and policymakers for three days of high-level collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic discussions on how innovation ecosystems can address future security and civilian challenges through dual-use technologies.
Adding to this major milestone for the Portuguese innovation landscape, EBN has also announced the appointment of Jorge Pimenta, Innovation Director at Instituto Pedro Nunes and Director of ESA Space Solutions Portugal (ESA BIC Portugal), as the new Vice President of EBN. With extensive experience in innovation management, startup acceleration, technology transfer, and international collaboration, Jorge Pimenta brings valuable expertise and a strong entrepreneurial mindset to the leadership of the European network.
