Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) will host the workshop “New Directions in Materials for Electrochemical Sensors and Biosensors” on June 12, 2026, an initiative dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the latest scientific developments in materials for electrochemical sensors and biosensors.
The event will take place at the IPN Building B Auditorium, bringing together national and international researchers, specialists, and students interested in advanced materials, biomedical devices, and sensing technologies.
The workshop aims to promote knowledge sharing and scientific debate on electrochemical sensors and biosensors applied to healthcare, real-time monitoring, wearable devices, and near-patient technologies.
The programme will feature researchers from the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology in Lithuania, the National Institute of Materials Physics in Romania, the University of Coimbra, and Instituto Pedro Nunes, presenting research focused on the development of advanced materials, electrochemical sensors, biosensors, and biointerfaces.
Presentations will be delivered by Rasa Pauliukaite, Victor Diculescu, Adrian Enache, Ana Maria Oliveira Brett, Ana Maria Chiorcea Paquim, Joseany Almeida, Rui Barbosa, and Eliana Fernandes.
The workshop will also include scientific discussion and networking opportunities, as well as a round-table session dedicated to future directions in electrochemical sensor and biosensor research, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening collaborations between researchers and institutions active in this field.
