HOPE

Harnessing Optimized Poly(ester amide)s for Easing Parkinson's

Challenge

The HOPE project will design and develop safe and innovative polymer-drug conjugates, and evaluate their potential as antiparkinsonian drugs.

Solution / Main Objective

The main objective of the project is to synthesize and characterize, from a physicochemical and biological point of view, a new polymer-drug conjugate, composed of poly(ester amide)s (PEAs) and DOPA, as a promising therapeutic agent in the treatment of Parkinson Disease by intranasal administration, improving tolerability and reducing adverse events.

Objectives, Activities and Expected/Achieved Results

Innovative and custom poly(ester amide)s-levodopa conjugates: synthesis and characterization; Evaluation of the potential of brain-targeted PEAs-DOPA conjugates for Parkinson’s Disease via intranasal administration.
