Instituto Pedro Nunes Hosts Regional Initiative Focused on the Circular Economy

On November 21, 2025, Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) hosted the presentation session of the 3rd edition of the Central Circular Economy Pact , an initiative promoted by the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro (CCDRC, I.P.).

The Central Circular Economy Pact aims to mobilize organizations in the Centro region to implement actions that strengthen the transition to a more circular, efficient, and sustainable economy.

The session brought together various organizations and professionals from the fields of innovation, sustainability, and regional development.
The event also featured two startups from the IPN ecosystem, Fibersight, represented by CEO Tiago Neves, and OWLplaces, represented by co-founder Pedro Resende, who presented their companies and participated in a discussion with Carla Duarte, Innovation Manager at IPN, who explained the Institute work in supporting innovation and businesses and framed the initiatives presented within the context of the circular economy.

In the afternoon, the program also included a visit where participants had the opportunity to learn about projects and activities that contribute to the circular economy.
The visit was led by researcher Jorge Corker, and João Paulo Dias, head of LED&MAT, who showcased initiatives, projects, and lines of work, highlighting IPN role in technological support and knowledge transfer to the business ecosystem.
