Instituto Pedro Nunes collaborated in the event to commemorate International Day of Elder Persons, which took place on 1 October. This initiative included a series of activities in the Parque Verde do Mondego, focussed on promoting healthy lifestyles, digital training, health literacy and sharing good practices.

The programme included a range of cultural and educational activities, including poetry, debates on healthy eating and discussions on lifelong health.

In addition, the event provided moments of entertainment, such as senior fashion shows by the Coimbra Community Development and Social Solidarity Centre, and musical performances by the Ílhavo Ageing Laboratory and the Seniormor Tuna, from the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Montemor-o-Velho.

The event, organised by the Central Regional Section of the Portuguese Medical Association and Ageing Coimbra, was supported by Instituto Pedro Nunes, through the Laboratory for Automatics and Systems, Coimbra Municipality, the University of Coimbra, the Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research and the Multidisciplinary Institute for Ageing.

The IPN Las collaborated with the event through the Health and Longevity Square, where we invited everyone - not just the elderly, because prevention starts from a young age - to assess their lifestyles and learn more about what has been done in the field of healthy ageing. IPN also provided a demonstration of the technological asset CogniViTra, a solution that facilitates cognitive training and physical stimulation for the elderly through an ICT-based platform.
