Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) hosted the CleanMould Final Seminar, an event dedicated to the field of injection moulds for complex parts, which brought together experts in the field.

The event started with the presentation of the CleanMould project by Telma Ferreira, from IPN. Then, Luís Pereira, from MICROplásticos, took the stage to discuss the problem of MICROplásticos and the challenges related to the injection of complex technical parts.

Inês Marcelino, from IPN, presented the innovative solution of low friction coatings for moulds, arousing great interest among the participants.

Next, Rodrigo Santos, from the University of Aveiro (UA), shared valuable information on the application of laser technology in the injection moulding industry, addressing mould cleaning and reuse.

Finally, they discussed the milestones achieved throughout the project and shared exciting future prospects for the moulding sector of complex technical parts.

CleanMould is a research and development project carried out in partnership with MICROplásticos, the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) and the University of Aveiro (UA). The project sought to offer advanced solutions for injection moulding parts with complex geometries, focusing on low-friction coatings and laser technology.
