Challenge

EIT Health Ageing PhD School (Ageing@EITHealth) is fueled by a pan-European collaboration of EIT Health Academic and Non-Academic partners to foster international and cross-sector training of a new generation of PhD specialists, to achieve solid Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) competences. Ageing@EITHealth stands on accredited PhD programs (Core Programs) complemented with robust EIT Health-based Innovation and Entrepreneurship training, multi-university portfolio of advanced teaching in Ageing, as well as international mobility and co-mentorship of PhD theses at Universities, Hospitals and Companies.

Solution

The EIT Health Aging PhD School aims to promote competency-based, learner-centered learning, following the guidelines of the EIT Learning and Quality Assurance Model, Overarching Learning Outcomes (OLOs) and a true integration of the knowledge triangle, to support healthy living citizens and create the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Students will be monitored to ensure that expected learning outcomes are reached at the end of the educational portfolio (December 2022) and that the courses are evaluated positively concerning student’s satisfaction with contents and quality.

We expect to recruit at least 25 students in 2022 (efforts will be implemented to recruit 35) with expected adherence to the program between 80 and 100%.

Objectives, Activities and Results expected / achieved

With this project it is expected that, EIT Health Ageing PhD students are expected to achieve:
• Making value judgements and sustainability competences;
• Entrepreneurship skills and competencies;
• Creativity skills and competencies;
• Innovation skills and competencies;
• Research skills and competencies;
• Intellectual transforming skills and competencies;
• Leadership skills and competencies.

In addition, it is expected to provide students with knowledge, theortical principles, hands-on international and cross-organizational training programs.
