Instituto Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) is part of the scientific committee of the
2nd National Nuts Symposium, through Joana Costa, director and technical manager of the
Phytopathology Laboratory (FITOLAB).
This symposium is organised by the Portuguese Society of Agricultural Sciences (SCAP) and the National Competence Centre for Dried Fruits (CNCFS), and will take place between 14 and 16 November 2022, in the Auditorium of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve, in Faro.
This symposium aims to discuss topics such as sustainable production, processing, enhancement of production and by-products and marketing, in the context of the carob, almond, hazelnut, walnut and pistachio tree sectors. Scientific and technological developments occur on a daily basis, making sharing between peers and with technicians and producers in the field essential. It is from this sharing that the opportunity arises to increase production in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner.
Each session begins with a plenary lecture given by a guest speaker, followed by oral and panel sessions.
This event will count with the best national and foreign specialists, and we are sure it will give an important contribution for a safer and more sustainable growing of nuts and dried fruit in Portugal.
Registration until November 14th through the email
