Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), through the Laboratory for Automatics and Systems, is participating in the ROSIA project, which is acquiring using a pre-commercial procurement (PCP) the development of an innovative catalogue of comprehensive services for patients in need of rehabilitation, ensuring that those who live in areas less provided with in-person services, have access to tele-rehabilitation services.


Between 9th and 10th May, the IPN team hosted the ROSIA Consortium meeting in Coimbra. During the meeting, the consortium members discussed the advances to date, while preparing future work. The first phase of the PCP has been successfully completed, with 3 out of 5 consortia selected to move on to the second phase, which started on 26 April 2023, to implement the prototypes in a hospital environment.


The consortium is composed of 12 partners, 4 of which are Portuguese. Besides the IPN, through the Laboratory of Automatics and Systems, the project consists of the Instituto Aragones de Ciencias de la Salud, the Servicio Aragones de la Salud, the National Rehabilitation Hospital, the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre, El Sitio de Valdelatarra, the Stichting International Foundation for Integrated Care, The Decision Group, the Instituto para la Experiencia del Paciente SL, the PPCN.XYS APS, the Municipality of Penela and the Municipality of Soure.


ROSIA (Remote Rehabilitation for Isolated Areas) is a project co-funded by the European Union's H2020 programme under the Pre-commercial Procurement Instrument (PCP) and agreement GA 101017606.
