The acceleration programme of Instituto Pedro Nunes has already supported 134 teams and returns for a new edition with 12 business ideas.

Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) has started the 12th edition of Ineo Start, an acceleration programme for technology-based ideas or projects. In this edition 12 teams were selected in areas such as health, food, environment, tourism and smart cities.

Ineo Start will take place in IPN from 12 April to 5 May. During four weeks, the teams will have access to workshops, talks with entrepreneurs and mentoring with experts. The aim of the programme is to support business structuring, foster networking, expand contact networks and identify funding opportunities.

The highlight of the initiative is the Demo Day, which will take place on the last day of the programme, 5 May, where the teams will publicly present their projects before an audience that will include potential investors, partners and customers.

Ineo Start is one of the oldest national acceleration programs, and has already supported hundreds of entrepreneurs who created startups such as: LaserLeap, Sensing Future; ihCare, doDOC; Sentilant; Mitotag, The Loop co., MedsimLab, TUU, EcoX, Spotlite or NerveGen.

According to Jorge Pimenta, Director of Innovation at Instituto Pedro Nunes and coordinator of Ineo Start: "This is a unique program, where we make known ideas that can truly transform the world. In Ineo Start we have the privilege of supporting very qualified teams and entrepreneurs who are starting their journey. This is a huge responsibility, but also an even greater motivation to give the best that IPN can offer to companies: mentors with experience, technological know-how and a wide network of contacts.

We want each edition of Ineo Start to help launch the most promising startups in our country!".

This activity is part of the INOVC+ Programme and co-funded by the Centro 2020 Programme, Portugal 2020 and the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
