Instituto Pedro Nunes participates in the project “INNHospital - Towards a New Hospital Model based on Innovation and Knowledge Transfer” enrolled in the Interreg VA España-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020 and which aims to enhance the research, technological development and innovation at hospital level between Portugal and Spain.

The main objective of the INNHOSPITAL project is to advance to the definition of a new role of the Hospital in Society, in which hospitals are not only resource consumers, but are entities that produce economic return derived from the exploration of scientific and assistance knowledge, through the development innovative products and services.

INNHOSPITAL kick-off meeting took place on July 10, in Valladolid, Spain, at GRS premises, and was attended by IPN and representatives of the various institutions of this Consortium.

IPN is part of this Consortium together with 7 other Portuguese and Spanish entities: Regional Management of Health of Castilla y León (GRS); SocioSanitary Cluster of Extremadura; Foundation for the Training and Investigation of Professionals of Extremadura Health; Association Cluster of Health of Castile and Leon (BIOTECYL), Coimbra Hospital and University Center; University of Aveiro and Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators (APAH).

The overall value of the INNHOSPITAL project is € 804,629.18, spread over a time horizon by the end of 2021.
