Challenge
To increase entrepreneurship training across Europe
Solution
To promote on-the-job training for inexperienced entrepreneurs, for periods of 1 to 6 months, with hosts that are seasoned in managing SMEs in the same business area in another participating European country.
During the project, the HEYETECH consortium promoted 59 placements of young entrepreneurs in internships with host entrepreneurs from SMEs in other European countries.
IPN Incubator had nine young Portuguese entrepreneurs on internships with more experienced entrepreneurs in other EU countries and 11 national entrepreneurs welcoming young entrepreneurs from different participating countries.
By the end of the project the young entrepreneurs believed that their entrepreneurial skills had been considerably enhanced by having this international experience in a company with similar business activity to the one they aim to create. The host companies recognise the benefit of having a dynamic external operator from another market in their teams for an important period, which brings other types of experiences that may prove to be valuable for possible international expansion in the future.
