The EUROACELERA project, Transborder Entrepreneurship Campus is a cross-border cooperation project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the INTERREG V-A Spain Portugal Program (POCTEP), which promotes the development of border areas in Spain and Portugal.
EUROACELERA will mean the setting up of a EuroACE community for entrepreneurship and the acceleration of knowledge-based business projects, with priority support for the population between 18 and 35 years old, students and university graduates and higher vocational training, as well as young researchers with the the objective of boosting the creation of companies as a result of training projects with commercial potential, as well as lines of work that make use of the pre-existing and more influential scientific and technological domains to face the competitive challenges of the participating regions.
This project will pay particular attention to the disparity of gender, rurality and territorial dispersion.
EUROACELERA is a commitment to transform the Euroace space into a retention, development and attraction center for young talents, offering an opportunity for young people with innovative and technological business ideas to find options for the development of their projects through a favorable environment for the acceleration of his ideas.
The EUROACELERA project is a joint project between the regions of Extremadura, Center and Alentejo, made up of 14 entities. The partners are 9 Spanish entities and 5 Portuguese.
From Extremadura they participate: Extremadura Avante, Fundecyt-PCTEX, Directorate General of Enterprise and Competitiveness of the Board of Extremadura, Institute of the Youth, Institute of the Woman and Directorate General of Professional Training and University; as well as the Association of Young Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs of Extremadura and the companies Inversiones Sunhunter and IDE Connector.
On the Portuguese side, the consortium has the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, the Pedro Nunes Institute and the University of Évora.
The total cost of the EUROACELERA project, which runs from 01/01/2017 until 06/30/2019, amounts to € 2,171,218.33, with the total amount of ERDF assistance of € 1,628,413.74.
